My Love Rises Up

I can’t feel a change or a thang

But in the distance, there's a glance of hope

I can’t feel a change or a thang

But in the distance, there's a glance of hope

My words swarm closer engulfed in fire

I swear my intentions are higher

Like stars still shining

Even though the soul burned out long ago

I can’t feel a change or a thang

But in the distance, there's a glance of hope

Everyday lowering our heads

To the insecurities that make us so misled

Sometimes we kill to bow down

Sometimes we spit fake love around

Yet it would be an understatement to say

All the time we push and lock our feelings down

Like your dad locking you inside

Teaching you the only way to feel inside

I can’t feel a change or a thang

But in the distance, there's a glance of hope

My words swarm closer engulfed in fire

I swear my intentions are higher

Like stars still shining

Even though the soul burned out long ago

I can’t feel a change or a thang

But in the distance, there's a glance of hope

Hope for better days

When we no longer load our words with poison

Drawing pain from our waists

And firing hate from our hands

Vulnerability makes you a man

Don’t set flame to the land from whence you began

My words back down my love rises up

I swear my intentions are higher

I can feel everything

 And only one thing

Our hearts keep aching

 But the burden is enough

My words back down, my love rises up
